Insurance & Certifications

Last updated: 11 May 2026

When you let a builder into your home or onto your commercial property, you’ve got every right to know who they are, what they’re covered for, and whether they’re who they say they are. This page lays it out.

Company registration

  • Legal name: BESPOKE BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE NE LTD
  • Trading as: Bespoke Building & Maintenance NE
  • Company number: 16002428
  • Registered in: England and Wales
  • Registered office: Unit 8g West Chirton Trading Estate, North Shields, NE29 7TY
  • Verify: You can check our entry directly at Companies House (gov.uk)

What we’re registered to do

Our Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes at Companies House:

  • 41201 — Construction of commercial buildings
  • 41202 — Construction of domestic buildings
  • 43390 — Other building completion and finishing

In plain English: we’re set up to do commercial and domestic building work, plus finishing trades (plastering, tiling, painting, decorating, flooring).

Insurance

Public Liability Insurance — yes, we hold it. This covers injury to you or damage to your property arising from our work.

  • Cover level: [TO BE CONFIRMED — typically £1m–£5m on policies for builders our size]
  • Insurer: [TO BE CONFIRMED]
  • Policy number: [TO BE CONFIRMED]
  • Renewal date: [TO BE CONFIRMED]

If you’d like to see the certificate of insurance before we start work on your job, just ask — we’ll send a copy by email. We’d encourage you to verify it; that’s exactly what it’s there for.

Industry certifications

Certifications are something we add to as the business grows. The list below reflects our current status:

  • Gas Safe registered engineer — [TO BE CONFIRMED — we use Gas Safe registered subcontractors for any gas appliance work]
  • Part P (electrical) compliant work — [TO BE CONFIRMED — Part P work is carried out by NICEIC or equivalent registered electricians]
  • CHAS / SafeContractor / Constructionline — [TO BE CONFIRMED — accreditation pending for commercial fit-out work]
  • TrustMark — [TO BE CONFIRMED — application under consideration]
  • FENSA / CompetentRoofer — [TO BE CONFIRMED — relevant for specific windows / roofing work]

Working with subcontractors

For specialist trades (gas, electrical, structural calculations, roofing, alarm/security), we use qualified subcontractors who hold the right certifications for their trade. We oversee the work and remain responsible to you for the finished result.

If you’d prefer to use your own contractors for any specific element of a larger job (e.g., your own electrician), we can plan around that — just let us know at quote stage.

Building Regulations compliance

All structural work, electrical installations covered by Part P, and other notifiable work complies with current UK Building Regulations. Where Building Control notification or sign-off is required, we’ll either handle it through a Competent Person Scheme or work with your Local Authority Building Control as appropriate — and we’ll make sure you get the relevant certificates for your records.

Questions

If you want sight of our insurance certificate, our subcontractors’ credentials, or anything else on this page before you book a job — just ask. Email hello@bespokebuildingne.com.

A note on the “[TO BE CONFIRMED]” placeholders above: these get filled in as soon as the underlying paperwork is in hand. We’ve left them visible deliberately rather than fudge it — better honest about what we’re still sorting than make claims we can’t back up.
