What we call an emergency
An emergency is anything that’s actively making your property unsafe, uninhabitable, or causing damage. Typical jobs we do same-day:
- Water leaks — burst pipes, leaking radiators, overflow problems, ceiling drips
- Locks — locked out, broken lock, snapped key, lost keys, door won’t close properly
- Electrical faults — tripping consumer unit, sparking sockets, lights out across a whole circuit
- Heating failures — boiler down in cold weather, no hot water, radiators not heating
- Structural concerns — fallen ceiling tiles, loose roof tiles after a storm, cracked windows letting water in
- External damage after weather — broken fence panels in a storm, garden gate hanging off, blown-down sheds
If you’re not sure whether your job counts as an emergency — just ring. We’d rather you ask than sit worrying. If it’s not urgent we’ll book you in for the next day or two at a normal rate.
What it costs
- Call-out fee: £50–£150 depending on time of day and where you are
- £50 deposit online to secure your same-day slot
- The £50 deposit gets applied straight to your call-out fee — you’re not paying extra for booking
- Any actual repair work is quoted on site before we start, so you always know what you’re paying for
- No “while we’re here” surprise charges
If we can’t reach you in the time we promised, the £50 deposit comes straight back to you.
How fast we get there
- Primary service area (North Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Cullercoats, Monkseaton, Backworth, Earsdon — NE25–NE30 postcodes): typically within 2 hours
- Extended area (Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Cramlington, Blyth, Morpeth): typically within 3–4 hours, small travel charge applies
Response times depend on the time of day, the weather, and how booked up we already are. If we can’t make the time window, we’ll tell you straight away rather than keep you guessing.
What happens when you call
- You ring or fill in the form. Tell us postcode, what’s wrong, how urgent.
- We confirm a time window — usually within minutes, occasionally within the hour at busy times.
- You pay the £50 deposit online to lock in the slot.
- We turn up, look at the job, quote you a fixed price before any repair starts.
- You say yes, we fix it. Or you say no, we charge the call-out fee, and that’s that.
